This was a two-year collaborative project, commissioned by the Higher Education Authority in the South, between University College Dublin (Institute for British-Irish Studies and the Geary Institute [formerly the Institute for the Study of Social Change]), Queen's University Belfast (Institute of Governance and Centre for International Borders Research), the Centre for Cross Border Studies and Democratic Dialogue.

The Centre contributed a discussion paper
[225 KB] on cross-border cooperation in education and a mapping study of the extensive programmes and projects aimed at promoting cross-border
co-operation on the island of Ireland.
The Centre also organised the final conference and the four study days.
